Each year, more than one billion birds die from striking glass surfaces. This shocking number has contributed to a 30% decline in North American bird populations since 1970—roughly one in four birds lost. Many species, including migratory birds, fail to recognize clear or reflective glass as a barrier, leading to fatal collisions.
To combat this crisis, ABC has rigorously tested and approved solutions, including patterned window films that make glass visible to birds. Every design in Decorative Films’ Bird Safety Film Collection has been tested and meets ABC’s strict Threat Factor rating of 20 or below, meaning they have a proven ability to significantly reduce bird strikes.
